By using The Perfect Pour — this website and the app — you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service. This page mirrors the terms you accept inside the app.

The service

The Perfect Pour is a personal whiskey-cellar app from Chasing the Unicorn. We work to keep it reliable and to back up synced data, but no software is perfect — there can be outages or bugs, so keep your own export backup of anything you can’t lose. To the extent the law allows, the app is provided on an “as is” basis.

For ages 21 and up

This app is about appreciating American whiskey. It’s intended for people of legal drinking age (21+ in the United States). It does not sell alcohol.

Plans and billing

The Perfect Pour has a free plan and paid plans (Bourbon Enthusiast and Bourbon Keeper). Paid plans are billed in advance through a third-party payment processor at the price shown when you subscribe. Monthly plans renew every month and annual plans renew every year, automatically, until you cancel. We show the price and the renewal terms before you confirm, and any introductory or founding rate applies as described at the time you subscribe.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel any time from Settings. When you cancel, your paid features stay active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again. If something went wrong with a charge, reach out — we handle refunds case by case and in line with applicable law. Where a purchase is made through an app store, that store’s billing and refund rules also apply.

Not financial advice

Collection-value and allocation features are informational tools to help you track and organize your own bottles. They are not appraisals, investment advice, or a guarantee of resale value. Any figure we show is an estimate, not a verified price — confirm it against trusted, independent sources before you buy, sell, or insure on it. Decisions you make about buying, selling, or insuring bottles are your own.

Accuracy of bottle data

Bottle details — names, proofs, prices, mash bills, ages, and tasting notes — are gathered from automated research, public sources, and a shared community library. We work hard to keep them accurate, but they can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and they change over time. Treat them as a helpful starting point, verify anything that matters to you, and use the in-app edit to correct anything that’s off — your fix helps the next person too.

Distillery names and brand artwork

Distillery names, the names of bourbon trails, and related logos are the trademarks of their respective owners. The Perfect Pour is an independent app from Chasing the Unicorn and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any distillery, trail, or brand.

The collectible trail seals and badges in the app are original artwork we created. They are designed in the spirit and heritage of each distillery, as a respectful tribute meant to celebrate the bourbon trail — they are not copies, scans, or reproductions of any distillery’s logo, label, or other proprietary imagery, and they are not official merchandise. Where a distillery’s name appears, it is used only descriptively, to identify a real place. If you represent a distillery and would like your stamp adjusted or removed, email us and we’ll take care of it.

Your content

Your collection, notes, and photos are yours. By using social features you grant other users only the visibility you explicitly turn on. Be decent — don’t upload content that isn’t yours to share or that harasses other users.

Account suspension

We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt to bypass tier gating, or harm other users. We’ll act proportionately.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we make a material change, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continuing to use The Perfect Pour after a change means you accept the updated terms.
